landfalling hurricanes from the eye and eyewall positions.
Ultimate Chase documented Hurricane Charley's 160mph+ winds
rip through Charlotte Harbor, Florida and then documented
the inside of this rare Category 4's tiny eye from the
inside looking out. Ultimate Chase then documented Hurricane
Frances destructive eyewall winds from Vero Beach Barrier
Islands. Then, with little rest it was on to Pensacola Beach
Barrier Islands to capture the devastating storm surge event
that took place. Ultimate Chase was only 1 of 2 news
companies that documented Hurricane Ivan as it happened from
Pensacola Beach. This rare video gives people and inside
look into the destructive power of water. Finally, Ultimate
Chase finished the 2004 Hurricane Season with documenting
the night landfalling Hurricane Jeanne from Jensen Beach,
FL. |

Ultimate Chase
photographer Mike Theiss recorded the lowest on land
pressure during Hurricane Charley while in the tiny 3-5 mile
wide eye. His recorded pressure of 942mb was used by The
National Hurricane Center in their final report on Hurricane
Charley. |
